North Korea's state media, specifically the ruling Workers' Party newspaper Rodong Sinmun, has advised citizens to consume dog meat soup as a measure against the summer heat. This recommendation comes as record high temperatures affect the Korean peninsula. The newspaper published health advice on Sunday, including tips for coping with the heatwave and first aid for heat-related illnesses. The advice was presented in an interview with a senior doctor from Pyongyang General Hospital, who also warned about the worsening of certain health conditions due to heat exhaustion and heatstroke. This promotion of dog meat soup is part of a long-standing effort by Pyongyang.
