"A Symphony of Lights," Hong Kong's long-running nightly light and sound show, is being discontinued after 22 years. The show, a fixture of the city's tourism offerings, is set to be replaced with a new immersive light show experience planned for various districts, including popular tourist spots like The Peak. This revamp is part of a broader effort to upgrade Hong Kong's tourism offerings, as announced in the recent budget by finance chief Paul Chan Mo-po. The new show will build upon the concepts explored in last year’s “Immersive Light Show in Central”. The change is newsworthy as "A Symphony of Lights" has been a major tourist attraction for over two decades, and its replacement signals a shift in Hong Kong's approach to attracting visitors and modernizing its image. The new show is expected to launch as early as the second half of this year.
