Concurrently, a study published in "Nature Health" mapped pesticide exposure in Peru, comparing areas with exposure to pesticides not classified as carcinogenic to local cancer registries. This research reinforces the link between pesticide exposure and cancer. The current relevance lies in the need to balance agricultural productivity with public health concerns, prompting discussions about stricter regulations, safer alternatives, and comprehensive risk assessments for pesticide use.
