Project Jupiter

Project Jupiter refers to a proposed data center development that has drawn significant public opposition, particularly in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Recent news highlights protests against the project, with demonstrators gathering outside the New Mexico Environment Department. The controversy is amplified by a recent EPA proposal that critics argue could reduce public access to information regarding data center plans, potentially leaving communities "in the dark." This situation has seen an unusual alignment of political viewpoints, with both left and right factions uniting in their opposition to artificial intelligence data centers. The ongoing demonstrations and the EPA's proposed changes underscore the current relevance and significance of Project Jupiter as a focal point for debates surrounding data center development, environmental transparency, and public participation in regulatory processes.
