26 Federal Plaza

26 Federal Plaza is a federal office building located in lower Manhattan, New York City. It houses several federal agencies, including the FBI, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and US Citizenship and Immigration Services. The building recently gained notoriety on July 20, 2026, when a former U.S. Army soldier, Andrew Arrabaca, allegedly set off fireworks, ignited a fire, and discharged a pellet gun outside the premises. This incident resulted in injuries to three people and was reportedly motivated by anti-ICE sentiments, as indicated by a sign carried by the suspect. Arrabaca was apprehended by federal agents. In a separate development, former NYC Comptroller Brad Lander was arrested at the building on September 18th while attempting to inspect rooms holding detained immigrants, leading to a trial.
