Angwan Rukuba

Angwan Rukuba is a predominantly Christian town located in Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria. It has recently become newsworthy due to a deadly attack that occurred on Palm Sunday during Holy Week. According to reports, multiple gunmen opened fire randomly in the town, resulting in approximately 28 deaths. The attackers reportedly shouted a Muslim declaration during the incident. Following the attack, the Plateau State government imposed a 48-hour curfew in the Angwan Rukuba area. Residents have protested, demanding that local authorities take concrete steps to address the ongoing insecurity. The attack has heightened fears among Christians in Nigeria that they may be targeted during the Easter weekend, raising concerns about religious tensions and security in the region.
