Argyle Street

Argyle Street is a significant thoroughfare in Hong Kong's Kowloon district. It has recently been the scene of a tragic accident where a minibus mounted a pavement, resulting in one fatality and two serious injuries among pedestrians. This incident, which occurred on a Sunday afternoon, also injured 13 passengers and the driver. Historically, Argyle Street, particularly in the Mong Kok and Yau Ma Tei areas, was a focal point of significant civil unrest. Notably, in April 1966, riots erupted in the vicinity over a Star Ferry fare increase, leading to widespread violence, property damage, and numerous arrests.
