Bani Zeid

Bani Zeid is a neighborhood located in Aleppo, Syria. Recent news reports highlight it as one of three contested neighborhoods (along with Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh) experiencing intensified fighting between Syrian government forces and the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). This fighting, ongoing for at least three days, has prompted the Syrian army to order civilian evacuations from these areas. The conflict has deepened the rift between the Syrian government and Kurdish authorities. A ceasefire was announced by Syria’s Defence Ministry in the vicinity of Bani Zeid and the other neighborhoods after at least 22 people were killed. Tens of thousands of residents have been forced to flee their homes due to the violence, underscoring the area's current relevance as a focal point of conflict and displacement within Syria.
