Caddo Parish

First, a mass shooting occurred in Shreveport, within Caddo Parish, where a father fatally shot eight children. A woman and child escaped by jumping from the roof of the house. Second, Hugo Holland, a former prosecutor known for aggressive legal tactics and contributing to Caddo Parish's high death penalty conviction rate, is running for judge. Holland's career has been marked by controversies, including allegations of withholding evidence in death penalty cases and making racist remarks. His candidacy brings renewed scrutiny to his past actions and the fairness of the justice system within Caddo Parish.
