Ceará

Ceará is a state located in the northeastern region of Brazil. Recent news highlights both its natural attractions and unfortunate events. The Caminhos da Ibiapaba, a newly established 186km long-distance hiking trail in the northeast, is partly located in Ceará. This trail aims to promote conservation and create a sense of belonging by connecting hikers with the region's diverse landscapes and rural communities. However, Ceará was also the site of a recent tragic bus accident. A bus carrying pilgrims overturned in the state, resulting in the deaths of at least 15 people, including children and adults. The pilgrims were returning from a religious event. This incident underscores the challenges related to transportation safety in the region.
