China Zun

The China Zun, also known as Citic Tower, is Beijing's tallest skyscraper, located in the city's business district. It recently became newsworthy due to a tragic incident on Friday, June 26, 2026. A small aircraft, piloted by a 66-year-old Beijing resident identified only by his surname Liu, crashed into the building. Chinese authorities reported that the pilot, who was suffering from chronic insomnia and anxiety, crashed the plane into the skyscraper for personal reasons. The crash resulted in the pilot's death and injured 13 other individuals. Following the incident, sections of the building were boarded up, and evacuations took place in the surrounding area. The event highlights the building's prominence as a landmark in Beijing's business hub and the unfortunate circumstances that brought it to international attention.
