Coron

Coron is a popular tourist destination located in the province of Palawan, Philippines. It is known for its scenic beauty and attracts many visitors. Recently, Coron has become newsworthy due to a tragic incident involving the MV June Aster ferry. The ferry, en route to Coron from Manila with 117 passengers and 17 crew members, caught fire as it neared its destination. The blaze resulted in the deaths of at least five people, with 86 others reported missing. Forty-three individuals were successfully rescued from the waters off Coron. This event highlights the safety concerns for maritime travel in the region and has drawn significant attention to the area as a result of the disaster.
