Dinant, a city in southern Belgium, is currently facing an unusual situation involving an aggressive buzzard, also known as a hawk. This bird has been responsible for approximately 23 attacks on people in various locations throughout the city within a month, prompting local authorities to take action. The attacks are characterized by the buzzard targeting people's heads from behind. Due to the bird's unusual aggression, a falconer was tasked with capturing it. After being captured, the buzzard was housed at a wildlife rehabilitation center (Creaves) in Namur. However, the center was broken into, and the buzzard was stolen. The regional authorities have issued a search warrant for the bird, and residents are advised to carry umbrellas for protection. The situation highlights the rare and unpredictable behavior of wildlife and the challenges of managing human-animal interactions in urban environments.
