El Karma

El Karma is a locality in northern Algeria, situated approximately 50 kilometers (30 miles) from the capital city, Algiers. It has recently gained notoriety due to a tragic bus accident. On a Friday, a passenger bus traveling from the city of Sétif to Algiers skidded in El Karma and plunged into a deep ravine. This incident resulted in a significant loss of life, with reports indicating at least 27 fatalities and 39 injuries in one account, and at least 25 killed and 44 injured in another. Rescue teams were deployed to the scene. The location's current significance is tied directly to this devastating event, highlighting road safety concerns in the region.
