Fort Pierce

Fort Pierce, Florida, is a city that has recently been the site of significant news events. Most notably, it is where Ryan Routh was sentenced to life in prison for attempting to assassinate Donald Trump at a golf course in 2024. The sentencing took place in a Fort Pierce courtroom, where Routh previously attempted to harm himself after being found guilty. Federal prosecutors sought the life sentence. Separately, though unrelated, the area near Fort Pierce was also highlighted when a pregnant woman from Port St. Lucie was rescued from a sinking car in a pond. While the rescue didn't occur directly in Fort Pierce, the proximity connects the location to a positive news story alongside the more serious assassination attempt, raising the area's profile in recent news cycles.
