Fuego volcano

Fuego volcano, Central America's most active and one of the most active in the Western Hemisphere, recently erupted, prompting significant concern and action. The eruption began on Monday morning, with conditions escalating by nightfall. Authorities responded by issuing the country's second-most severe alert warning. Hundreds of people living on the volcano's slopes were evacuated from their homes as the eruption spewed lava and plumes of ash. By Tuesday, rivers of lava were observed streaming down the 3,763-meter volcano. Pyroclastic currents, which are fast-moving flows of gas, volcanic ash, and rock fragments, were also reported to be continuing down Fuego's south-eastern slope.
