Granite Peak

Granite Peak, standing at 12,803 feet (3,902 meters), is the highest mountain in Montana and a significant landmark for outdoor enthusiasts. It is known for its challenging terrain, attracting hikers and climbers. Recently, the mountain gained attention due to a dramatic rescue incident involving David Cifaldi. While hiking near the summit on July 20th with two friends, Cifaldi fell and was impaled by his own trekking pole. Instead of opting for immediate helicopter evacuation, he demonstrated remarkable resilience by hiking approximately 10 miles down the mountain to safety. This event highlights the extreme conditions and potential dangers associated with ascending Granite Peak, underscoring its reputation as a formidable natural challenge and the importance of preparedness for those who venture there.
