Kaiama

Kaiama is a district located in Kwara State, western Nigeria. It has recently become newsworthy due to a large-scale attack on villages within the district. On Tuesday night, suspected jihadist fighters attacked the villages of Woro and Nuku, resulting in the deaths of at least 162-170 people. The attackers reportedly shot residents, razed homes, and looted property. This attack is considered one of the deadliest in Nigeria in recent months, highlighting the country's ongoing struggle with interlinked security crises, including banditry and jihadist activity. In response to the attack, the Nigerian government has announced the deployment of an army battalion to the Kaiama district to address the security situation.
