Kwara

Kwara is a state located in western Nigeria. It is currently newsworthy due to a surge in deadly attacks by suspected jihadist fighters. Recent events include attacks on the villages of Woro and Nuku in the Kaiama district, resulting in the deaths of nearly 200 people. The attackers, dressed in army fatigues, reportedly targeted the villages in the name of religion, shooting residents, razing homes, and looting. In response to the escalating violence, the Nigerian government is deploying an army battalion to the affected area. Furthermore, the United States is sending 100 military personnel to northern Nigeria to train and advise local forces, although they will not have a combat role.
