La Bañeza

La Bañeza is a town in the province of León, Spain. Recently, it has become newsworthy due to multiple reports of violent attacks against transgender women. Specifically, two separate incidents have been reported in the media involving brutal assaults. In one instance, a transgender woman was attacked by a group of eight to ten people, suffering injuries including bruising and nearly losing an eye. In a separate incident, Bianca Lizbeth Fernández, Miss Trans Zamora 2024, was violently attacked in a pub, first by a group of women inside and then by a larger group outside. Both victims reported that the attacks were accompanied by transphobic slurs. These incidents highlight concerns about transphobia and violence against transgender individuals in La Bañeza, raising questions about safety and tolerance within the community.
