La Chaparra

La Chaparra is the name of a pseudo-religious sect located in a farmhouse in Vistabella del Maestrat, Castellón, Spain. The group recently gained notoriety due to the conviction of five of its former members on charges of sexual abuse, including abuse of minors. The Provincial Court of Castellón sentenced these individuals to prison terms ranging from three and a half to seven years. The case involved nine counts of sexual abuse, six of which involved minors. The trial concluded three months prior to the sentencing. The sect's activities and the subsequent legal proceedings highlight the vulnerability of individuals within such groups and the serious consequences of abuse, particularly against children, within these communities.
