Les Invalides

Les Invalides is a complex of buildings in Paris, France, containing museums and monuments, all relating to the military history of France, as well as a hospital and a church. It is particularly known as the burial site of Napoleon Bonaparte. Recently, Les Invalides served as the location for a national tribute to former Prime Minister Lionel Jospin, who passed away recently. President Emmanuel Macron delivered a eulogy in the courtyard of the Dôme des Invalides on March 26, 2026, honoring Jospin's contributions to modernizing France. The event was attended by numerous political figures. This event highlights Les Invalides' continued significance as a site for important national ceremonies and commemorations, reinforcing its role as a symbol of French history and national identity. Following the ceremony, Jospin's funeral was held at Montparnasse Cemetery.
