Lunar Gateway

The Lunar Gateway was initially planned as a space station in lunar orbit, intended to serve as a staging point for lunar missions and a research platform. However, according to recent news, NASA is cancelling the Lunar Gateway project. This decision is newsworthy because it represents a significant shift in NASA's lunar exploration strategy. Instead of the Gateway, NASA, under its new chief Jared Isaacman, will now focus on constructing a $20 billion base directly on the moon's surface over the next seven years. The components originally intended for the Lunar Gateway will be repurposed for this new lunar base.
