The Madrid-Sevilla high-speed rail line is currently newsworthy due to recent incidents raising concerns about safety and maintenance. The line connects Spain's capital with the Andalusian city of Seville. A recent incident involved a Renfe Alvia train traveling from Huelva to Madrid experiencing technical issues in Córdoba, causing significant delays. Specifically, the train's brakes overheated, requiring inspection and disrupting travel plans ahead of Semana Santa. Furthermore, Adif, the infrastructure manager, has acknowledged replacing 36 meters of rail near Adamuz (Córdoba) in March, close to the site of a January accident on the Madrid-Sevilla line. Crucially, Adif admitted that this replacement rail lacked proper quality control.
