Moosch

Moosch is a small village located in the Alsace region of France. It has recently gained attention due to a unique effort to prevent the closure of a class in its local school. The school is facing the potential loss of a class because it is four students short of reaching the required quota of 100. To highlight this issue and symbolically reach the quota, the village has decided to enroll five cows – Abondance, Amandine, Abeille, Arlette, and Amsel – in the school. This symbolic act is intended to raise awareness about the potential negative impact of the class closure on the community and to protest against the decision. The school staff also participated in a national teachers' strike on March 31st, further emphasizing their concern about the situation. This event underscores the challenges faced by small rural communities in maintaining essential services like education.
