Mumbles

Mumbles is a coastal village located in south Wales, recognized for its picturesque setting and historical depth. Recently, it gained attention as the location where the coffin of the renowned singer Bonnie Tyler, born Gaynor Hopkins, was brought home for her funeral on August 15, 2026. This event drew fans to line the village streets, marking a significant moment for the community. Furthermore, Mumbles is associated with significant archaeological discoveries. Bacon Hole, a cave near the village, was the site of Palaeolithic rock art discovered in 1912. Although initially dismissed as natural in 1928, the art, consisting of horizontal red pigment bands, has since been reclassified as the UK's oldest cave art.
