Nidda

Nidda is a town in Hesse, Germany, known for Schloss Nidda (Nidda Castle) and the Nidda River. Schloss Nidda, once neglected, has been restored by the Friedersdorf couple. The castle is now opening its smallest room, located in the Renaissance tower, for weddings. This restoration and repurposing of the castle is a noteworthy event for the town. Separately, the Nidda River near Schotten (Vogelsberg) was recently the site of an unusual discovery. A passerby found a dead, two-meter-long constrictor snake in the river near the Niddawasserfall (Nidda waterfall). Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the snake's death and presence in the river. These two events, the castle's wedding venue and the snake discovery, highlight different aspects of the Nidda region, from its historical landmarks to its natural environment.
