Nuku

Nuku is a village located in the Kaiama district of Kwara State, in western Nigeria. It is a rural community that, along with the neighboring village of Woro, was recently the target of a deadly attack. Nuku is newsworthy due to a recent massacre carried out by suspected jihadist fighters. On Wednesday, February 4, 2026, over 100 armed men, dressed in army fatigues, stormed Nuku and Woro, killing residents, razing homes, and looting property. The attacks resulted in the deaths of at least 167 people, making it one of the deadliest armed assaults in Nigeria this year.
