Nuku

Nuku is a village located in the Kaiama district of Kwara State, Nigeria. It is a rural community, neighboring the village of Woro. Nuku has recently become newsworthy due to a deadly attack by suspected jihadist fighters. On Wednesday, February 4, 2026, over 100 armed gunmen, dressed in army fatigues, attacked Nuku and Woro, resulting in the deaths of at least 167 people. The attackers reportedly shot residents, razed homes, and looted property. The attacks are considered one of Nigeria's deadliest armed assaults this year. The Nigerian government has responded by deploying an army battalion to the affected area.
