Paris-Orly Airport

Paris-Orly Airport (ORY) is an international airport located south of Paris, France. It is the second busiest airport in France after Charles de Gaulle Airport. Recently, Orly has been in the news for two separate incidents. First, an EasyJet plane was forced to abort its landing and "go around" due to mortar fire, believed to be from a wedding procession, near the airport. This incident raised concerns about security and potential disruptions to air traffic. Second, Air France concluded its operations at Paris-Orly Airport, with its last flight landing on March 28th. The airline is consolidating its operations at Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport. Transavia, Air France-KLM's low-cost subsidiary, will continue to operate from Orly. These changes mark a shift in the airport's operational landscape, with Air France's departure potentially impacting passenger traffic and airline competition at Orly.
