Pasir Langu village

Pasir Langu is a village located in the West Bandung district of West Java province, Indonesia. It is situated on the slopes of Mount Burangrang. The village has recently become newsworthy due to a devastating landslide that occurred on Saturday, January 24, 2026. The predawn landslide buried approximately 34 houses in the village, resulting in numerous casualties and leaving many missing. Rescue efforts are underway, with teams digging through mud and debris to recover bodies and search for survivors. As of Sunday, January 25, 2026, 72 people remained missing. Among those missing are 19 members of Indonesia's elite marine force. Improved weather conditions on Sunday aided rescue operations, but the situation remains critical, highlighting the vulnerability of communities in mountainous regions to natural disasters.
