Pasir Langu village

Pasir Langu is a village located in the West Bandung district of West Java province, Indonesia, situated on the slopes of Mount Burangrang. It has recently become newsworthy due to a devastating landslide that occurred on Saturday, January 24, 2026. The predawn landslide buried approximately 34 houses in the village, resulting in numerous casualties and a large number of missing people. As of Sunday, January 25, 2026, rescue efforts were underway, with rescuers recovering bodies from the mud and debris. At that time, 72 people remained missing, including 19 members of Indonesia's elite marine force. Improved weather conditions on Sunday aided the search and rescue operations. The event highlights the vulnerability of communities in mountainous regions to natural disasters and the challenges faced by rescue teams in such situations.
