Pasir Langu village

Pasir Langu is a village located in West Bandung district of West Java province, Indonesia. It is situated on the slopes of Mount Burangrang. The village is currently newsworthy due to a major landslide that occurred on Saturday, January 24, 2026. The predawn landslide buried approximately 34 houses in the village, resulting in numerous casualties and a large number of missing persons. As of Sunday, January 25, 2026, rescue efforts were underway, hampered initially by weather conditions, to recover bodies and search for the 72 people still missing. Among those missing are 19 members of Indonesia's elite marine force. The event highlights the vulnerability of villages in mountainous regions to natural disasters and the challenges faced by rescue teams in such situations.
