Pasirlangu

Pasirlangu is a residential area located in the West Bandung region of West Java province, Indonesia. It gained international attention in late January 2026 due to a devastating landslide triggered by days of intense rainfall. The landslide buried residential areas, destroying over thirty homes and causing numerous casualties. As of late January 2026, the confirmed death toll has risen to at least 17, with search-and-rescue operations ongoing for at least 42 people reported missing, including 19 members of Indonesia's marine force who were undergoing training in the area. The event highlights the vulnerability of the region to natural disasters and the challenges faced by rescue teams in the aftermath of such events.
