Peacock Theater

The Peacock Theater, located in the LA Live entertainment complex in downtown Los Angeles, is set to become the new home of the Academy Awards starting in 2029. This move marks the end of a nearly quarter-century run for the Oscars at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. The change coincides with the 101st Academy Awards ceremony and a shift in broadcast platform to YouTube. The Peacock Theater offers a larger seating capacity than the Dolby Theatre. This relocation signifies a break from tradition for the Oscars, moving the prestigious event from its long-standing Hollywood location to a more central area of Los Angeles. The move is part of a deal with AEG, an entertainment company, that will make L.A. LIVE the new headquarters for the Oscars.
