Peninsular Malaysia

Peninsular Malaysia, the western part of Malaysia, is currently in the news due to two significant events. Over 1,000 Orang Asli, the indigenous people of the peninsula, rallied in Putrajaya demanding recognition of their ancestral land rights and an end to encroachment by development projects. This highlights ongoing struggles for indigenous land claims. Separately, a fatal accident occurred off the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia in Terengganu state. Three individuals lost their lives and one was injured during maintenance work on a lifeboat at the FSO Sepat, a floating vessel operated by the state energy firm Petronas.
