Pui O

Pui O is a location situated on Hong Kong's Lantau Island. It has recently been in the news due to two separate incidents. In one instance, an eight-year-old girl tragically passed away after collapsing at her home in Lo Uk Tsuen Village, Pui O. Emergency services responded and attempted resuscitation before she was transported to a hospital. In another development, a protected wetland in the Pui O area has recorded significantly high levels of petroleum, up to 40 times higher than unaffected areas, following an oil spill. Environmental group Greenpeace has highlighted these findings, expressing concern for the local ecology and urging authorities to investigate the spill.
