Qabatiya

Qabatiya is a Palestinian town located in the occupied West Bank. It is currently newsworthy due to a recent incursion by Israeli forces following a deadly stabbing and suspected car-ramming attack in northern Israel. The assailant in that attack was reportedly from the West Bank. In response, the Israeli defence minister ordered the military to act forcefully against Qabatiya. Israeli forces have since carried out mass arrests, forced families from their homes, and imposed a curfew. The town is sealed off, and a sweeping military operation is underway. Qabatiya's current relevance stems from its location within the context of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the ongoing tensions and security operations in the West Bank.
