Rasuwa

Rasuwa is a mountainous district in Nepal with a population of approximately 50,000, located in a region bordering Tibet, China. This area has recently become newsworthy due to severe flash floods that swept through the region. The floods, triggered by torrential rains, have caused significant destruction, washing away villages, roads, bridges, and power projects. Authorities have reported casualties, with at least nine people killed and hundreds missing across the Nepal-Tibet border, including in Rasuwa's Syapru Besi and Timure areas. The disaster has prompted rescue operations, including the deployment of helicopters by Nepal. The ongoing risk of further casualties and the extensive damage highlight the vulnerability of communities in this border region and the immediate need for relief and reconstruction efforts.
