Remolar

Remolar, along with Ricarda, is a protected area within the Llobregat Delta. These areas are facing the loss of 27 hectares of protected land due to the planned expansion of El Prat Airport. This situation is newsworthy as the regional government (Departament de Territori, Habitatge i Transició Ecològica) has begun the process of identifying land within the Llobregat Delta to be acquired by Aena, the airport authority, as compensation for the environmental damage. Aena had promised compensation for the impact of the airport expansion on these protected areas.
