Sedanka

The village lacks basic amenities like running water, indoor toilets, and central heating, despite harsh winter temperatures. Sedanka is currently newsworthy due to the disproportionate impact the war in Ukraine has had on its male population, with several villagers having been deployed and some killed in action. The regional governor is seeking to honor Sedanka with the title of 'Village of Military Valor,' a designation previously reserved for cities that were major battlefields in World War II. This highlights the village's significant contribution of soldiers to the war effort, while also drawing attention to the challenging living conditions and the sacrifices made by its residents.
