Sierra Espuña

Sierra Espuña is a natural park located in the Murcia region of Spain. It has recently been the site of a significant forest fire that started on Sunday, March 29, 2026, in the area of Llano de las Cabras, near Totana. The fire consumed approximately 400 hectares and led to the evacuation of 80 scouts and 14 monitors. Strong winds initially fueled the blaze, making it difficult to control. The Unidad Militar de Emergencias (UME) was deployed to assist in firefighting efforts. The regional president, Fernando López Miras, requested additional support from the central government, including water-dropping aircraft. As of late Sunday, the fire has been reported as stabilized, thanks to the efforts of firefighters and emergency services.
