Recent events include a military raid in Culiacan resulting in the capture of Sinaloa Cartel faction leader Omar Oswaldo Torres and the deaths of 11 people. Furthermore, the abduction of mine workers, employed by a Canadian company, has drawn international attention, with several confirmed dead. The violence is fueled by internal feuds within the Sinaloa Cartel and broader cartel-related conflicts across Mexico.
