These conditions necessitated evacuations and caused widespread disruption. The storm, which initially affected Gran Canaria, moved westward, hitting Tacoronte and other northern Tenerife municipalities like Puerto de la Cruz particularly hard. The severity of the situation led to the activation of emergency protocols by Protección Civil, highlighting the vulnerability of the region to extreme weather events. The UME (Military Emergency Unit) has been deployed to assist.
