Tajimi

Tajimi is a city located in central Japan, specifically in Gifu prefecture. Recently, Tajimi has gained attention as it was one of the locations that recorded temperatures exceeding 40 degrees Celsius (104 degrees Fahrenheit). This event marked Japan's first official 'kokushobi', or 'cruelly hot day', a term introduced by the Japan Meteorological Agency in April to highlight days with such extreme heat. These days, once considered rare, are becoming more common, prompting the agency to create the new designation for public safety warnings. The sweltering conditions in Tajimi and other central Japanese cities underscore the growing concern over rising global temperatures and their impact on daily life and public health in Japan.
