Tianmen

Tianmen is a city located in the central Hubei province of China. It has recently gained attention due to a controversy involving Huatai Primary School. The school distributed a survey to its pupils, titled 'Observation List of Parents’ Occupation,' which asked them to describe their parents' jobs using potentially offensive terms such as 'smelly' or 'noisy.' This survey, which coincided with the May Day holiday, has drawn criticism and condemnation for invading the privacy of parents and for its inappropriate nature. While the articles do not provide extensive background on Tianmen itself, this specific incident highlights a local educational issue that has sparked public debate. The relevance of Tianmen in this context is as the setting for this unusual and controversial school practice.
