It is situated near the route of the city's annual LGBTQ Pride parade. Recently, Tiergarten has become newsworthy due to a tragic event that occurred during the Pride celebrations. On a Saturday evening, a car reportedly drove into a crowd of people near the parade route within the park. This incident resulted in the death of one person and left at least 16 others injured, with some sustaining life-threatening injuries. Following the event, police called off the Pride parade.
