Tooro

Tooro is a traditional kingdom located in western Uganda. It has recently gained attention due to the death of its monarch, King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV, at the age of 34. King Oyo ascended to the throne at the remarkably young age of three in 1995, following the passing of his father, making him the world's youngest reigning traditional monarch. His recent death has cast a shadow of uncertainty over the future of the Tooro monarchy, particularly as he was not officially married. However, reports indicate that the king had a young son, whose identity is expected to be revealed in accordance with Tooro customs, potentially paving the way for succession. The annual Empango celebration, marking the anniversary of his coronation, was a significant event he had hoped to attend this year. The cause of his death has not been officially disclosed.
