Trishuli River

The Trishuli River in Nepal is the location of a recent tragic bus accident. A packed bus traveling from Pokhara to Kathmandu on the Prithvi Highway plunged off a mountain slope near the river, resulting in the deaths of 19 people, including a 24-year-old British national. Twenty-five others were injured. One Chinese national is missing and another is being treated at a local hospital. The incident occurred early Monday morning in the central Dhading district. The bus fell 200m onto the bank of the Trishuli River. This event highlights the dangers of bus travel on Nepal's narrow and often precarious roads, where accidents are reportedly frequent. The crash is currently under investigation by police.
