Ñuble

Ñuble is a region located approximately 500km south of Santiago, Chile. It, along with the Biobío region, is currently newsworthy due to a series of devastating wildfires. These fires have resulted in at least 16 confirmed deaths and the evacuation of over 20,000 people. The severity of the situation has led Chilean President Gabriel Boric to declare a state of catastrophe in both regions, enabling increased resource allocation and emergency response measures. The fires, fueled by hot, dry, and windy conditions exacerbated by climate change, have destroyed homes and threatened forests, impacting both urban and rural areas.
