Ñuble

Ñuble is a region located in southern Chile, approximately 500km south of the capital, Santiago. It, along with the Biobío region, has recently been declared a 'state of catastrophe' due to devastating wildfires. These fires, fueled by hot, dry, and windy conditions exacerbated by climate change, have resulted in at least 16 deaths and the evacuation of over 20,000 people. The blazes have destroyed homes and forests, with one particularly dangerous fire threatening the coastal city of Concepción. The Chilean President, Gabriel Boric, has declared a state of emergency and is appealing for national assistance to combat the fires.
