Wenling

Wenling is a coastal city located in Zhejiang province, eastern China. It has recently gained attention due to two significant developments. Firstly, it is identified as one of the potential landing sites for Typhoon Bavi, a weakened but still potent storm that caused flight disruptions and cancellations in the region. The typhoon's approach led to precautionary measures and impacted air travel to and from nearby airports. Secondly, Wenling is the location near where China's first privately owned research vessel, the Haiying Jiake, was launched. This 82-meter-long vessel, funded by Zhejiang fishermen, represents a new development in private maritime research in China, although it is currently awaiting its first assignment.
