Recent events in Yahukimo, a region in Indonesia's restive easternmost territory of Papua, have brought the ongoing low-level conflict for independence to international attention. Separatist rebels, identified as part of the West Papua National Liberation Army (TPNPB), shot and killed American pilot Nicholas F Gosselin.
