Yen Chow Street, located in Sham Shui Po, Hong Kong, is currently a site of a government drainage pipe replacement project. This project, which extends from Tsuen Wan to West Kowloon, has recently become newsworthy due to a tragic industrial accident. On a Wednesday afternoon, a 68-year-old contractor's worker was fatally struck by an electric chain hoist while working on the drainage replacement project. Despite being taken to Princess Margaret Hospital in critical condition, the worker later died. Following this incident, Hong Kong authorities have suspended the drainage project on Yen Chow Street.
